The Wolf Pack howl was heard all over Pack-A-Palooza.

NC State University is very well known across the nation, students from all over the place experienced what is like to be part of the pack, and what being a North Carolinian is all about. Southern charm, good food and great music.

In case you have not attended one of these events, let us walk you through it.

Pack-A-Palooza is a decade old campus-community street fair that takes over Hillsborough St. Filled with musical performances, games, arts, food, and entertainment for new, alumni, and upcoming students.

This year, the event took place on August 27, from 2:00 pm until approximately midnight.

People of all ages could be seen walking through campus, receiving gifts and information from the booths, and even poems that were written by the school mascot. Students were mesmerized by the musical acts, one of them being the energetic Zephyranthes, a local band that threw their talent all over the place. Climbing, throwing themselves on the speakers, playing their music off-tempo and coming back in harmony, like nothing ever happened.

We had to enjoy the spicy chicken sandwich and the spicy chicken strips, they were delicious. There were a lot of vendors, but our stomachs could only hold so much food!. It helped a lot since the event lasted all afternoon long.

One event of the night took everybody by surprise, with the presence of Abby Lampe, an NCSU Alumni who represented the pack overseas, specifically in Gloucestershire England, competing and winning the Women’s World Cheese Rolling Competition, the first American Woman to win this historic race.

Cheese flying everywhere!

Rain put a hold on the night for about 30 minutes, right before the closing acts of the event were going to perform. Everybody seeked shelter and waited patiently on the updates that were posted on Instagram. Once the message got out, the streets were filled again, some with rain coats, umbrellas, and others with soaking wet clothes, but all the attention went to American Aquarium, their southern tunes were the perfect way to end a perfect night.

We hope that y’all enjoyed this event, made with a lot of love and care from the institution and the sponsors. Enjoy your education, take advantage of the opportunities that are given, and we cannot wait to see all of the professionals that are going to graduate in the years to come. Go Pack!.
